Default Panel Doctors north west (England)!
Can anyone tell us if there is somewhere in the north west for us to have our medicals/xrays. We've been on the immigration site and the nearest listed area is Yorkshire!! :-/
We live near Chester and thought there would be somewhere closer to home.

We have now found a list of local doctors/clinics in the north west so will be getting in touch with one of them (Liverpool & Manchester)........dreading the bill! :o

Could you please tell me where you got the list of Doctors as I live in Cumbria (even further to travel) so would be very greatful for Doctor closer to home.

Default Doctors
We live in Lancashire and could do with some advice on doctors etc. I think there may be one in Manchester which is 30 miles away cos a work mate used one over there to get over to Australia, but dont have any details. We have just been selected from the pool so I assume we will hear from "them" in a few weeks. Also does anyone know if the police check is done by us or do they do that, I am thinking that we could send off for this fairly soon to save some time.

Not sure about the doctors, but the Police Checks are up to you to arrange. You should contact your local Police authority and they will give you an application form to fill in and send back. Ours cost ?10 each and I believe this is pretty much the standard cost countrywide. Also, they can take up to 6 weeks to come back, although this may be different for different Police Forces. The Police Checks are only valid for 6 months, so make sure you don't apply for them too soon!

You have to arrange your own Police check.

its quite a simple process but it can take upto 6 weeks to get your certificate.

We contacted our local police station and they gave us a contact number.

unfortunately i can not find this as we have had a massive clear out as

we fly to NZ next Sunday

Many thanks for these contacts I have stored them safely so that as soon as my ITA is through we can get cracking. I have already had a police check for the NZ Nurses Council so hopefully I can just get them to send me another one, Mine only took a couple of weeks so hope my family's will only take that long. :icon_biggrin:
