Aieee! We mailed off our application today. Now comes the next round of waiting :030: . My main concern is that we get our passports back before December, because we'll need them then. We didn't get certified copies of the passports, and are trusting (foolishly perhaps) that they will return in time. Good wishes and prayers on this matter will be gladly accepted :051: . Oh, and please wish us luck with the application.

Thanks to Taffy's Gang for information, support and fellowship. Y'all have definitely eased the stress and confusion by being here.

Other than just wanting to know if they want us, we have the luxury of not being in a rush to get PR. We have a couple of things to wrap up, including the "rabies wait" for the cats. We anticipate moving in March or April 2006. It sure is nice to have the application out the door, though.

could you give me an idea how much it cost
you for your medicals in the USA? my wife is currently
in Chicago and she plans to take her medical and x-ray there.

Although we have insurance, here are the amounts actually billed by the provider:

Physical exam: $75
Chest Xray: $108
Blood test (syphyllis?): $44.86

Of course, costs may vary, but this gives you a general idea. We didn't need to have any "extra" blood tests like glucose tolerance.

You'll also need 2 passport-sized photos, which if you have a "pro" take them could cost about $11. We took digital photos and printed them at home. Same for the application. In fact, you can do this for passports.
