Default Processing time for Singapore applications

    Hi,

Just wondering if there are any Singaporean applicants or Singapore-based applicants here. My ITA was received in June 2009 and my ITA application confirmed approved in October 2009. I've checked with Shanghai branch (that's the processing centre for my ITA) over the last couple of months and all I have heard is that it hasn't been processed yet.

According to an internet report, Shanghai branch has one of the lowest rates for approval of PR applications. Is this true? This is quite worrying.

Hi SB, it looks like you have been waiting for almost 10 mths.

I'm also from Singapore and my application is with Beijing branch.
in the letter i received, it says that due to their current workload, it could take 6-9 mths before they starts processing and another 6 mths for the actual assessment. So it looks like it may take 1 year before i hear anything from them again. Which for me is probably next year April.

    Hi Surfbabe,

Processing times are awful at the Shanghai and Beijing branches, irrespective of your country of origin.

Our application's at Shanghai and we received a letter stating it will be 9-12months from the lodgement date that we are assigned a CO. And a further 12-18months from there before our processing is completed.

Sit back and get ready for a long wait! :)
    Good luck!

    Default Hi!

Hi! My very first post here!

My husband and i just submitted our EOI last night.

    He being the main applicant

He has 130 points and is applying under skilled migrant category (Computer Science)

Having only 130 points means we will not be automatically selected from the pool.

Does anyone know how long will your EOI be in the pool for before it gets selected?

    Thanks

The timing can vary depending on the INZ branch you are dealing with and how many points you have. The more points the quicker you are selected, generally. An EOI stays in the pool for a period of 6 months and, if it hasn't been selected during that time, it will be withdrawn. There is a recent thread started by Preciosa in the ITA Chat forum with processing timelines on specifically to inform people how long between the various stages of an application. If you can dig it up, it should give you some idea although it would be good if a few more people added to it.

    Hi Motherbear,

I am Singaporean studying in Auckland. Currently, I am holding a Student Pass. I will be finishing my post-graduate course mid of next year. I would like to know if my application for EOI is successful, which branch will I be attached to while I am in Auckland. Is there any INZ branch in Auckland? Will the process be faster compared to other offshore branch?

    Thanks.
