    Default Character waiver

    Hi

We have just gotten the all clear with medicals but have been informed that OH has to apply for a character waiver
Basically 4 years ago she bumped another car leaving a parking space in a shopping centre but was unaware of doing so
    She was subsequently convicted of:
driving with undue care & attention
    failure to report an accident
    fine 100 & 5 points
I would consider this to be fairly minor and hope it should pose no problems
Any thoughts from anyone has had a similar problem

I'm surprised they want a character waiver for that. Dangerous driving I could understand but driving without due care and attention is a relatively minor offence and one that I would think hundreds of people come up against during their driving lifetime. I would guess it's the other linked offence that is causing the problem - the fact that she didn't report it. I would hope the character waiver is only a formality.

    Default Character waiver

I cant believe this has been asked for such trivialities??? My partner was convicted of GBH (albeit 19 years ago) they onyl wanted a hand written letter saying what happened - the mysteries of INZ I suppose.

Hey, if youve got all this approved - the rest is just academic, youve simply got to toe-the-red-tape line, but if it was me I would be seriously on the case of my case officer if a response has not been received within 2 weeks at the very latest - sometimes you have to give these folks a rocket and believe me when I tell you it is much easier doing this in your own country than when you are (a confidence thing really, it's much easier to give the "what for attitude" in your home land than when in Rome so to speak.......
