Default Critical Factors for obtaining PR

    Hello Guys,

Are there any other critical factors aside from a job offer to gain the PR directly without passing through WTR?

Does a visit in New Zealand before loding the ITA can push a direct PR approval or not at all?

    God Speed!

I think your job skills, qualifications and work experience are what gets you in under the SMC and getting PR directly. NZ is looking for certain skills they are short of and those who have these skills are the favoured few. A job offer is the icing on the cake and may help an application push through more quickly. Also you probably wouldn't need an interview if you have a job offer.

There are other ways of getting PR directly, of course, e.g. under the Family Category etc. but I take it you don't mean that.

Provided that you have the points necessary and pass the character reference and health checks, the next thing that INZ will try to evaluate is how likely you are to actually settle in the country successfully. They will need reassurance/evidence that you have fully considered what you are doing, that you have back up plans if things don't go the way you expect, that you have made some effort to understand the NZ culture and way of life and that you understand and are prepared for the job market.

A trip might help as a good example of your preparation, but it isn't a requirement. In my opinion I think it is a good idea that people take a trip before they move permanently. Places aren't always how they seem in pictures. Having said that, taking a holiday is also different from living in a place and there is only so much you can learn on a short visit.
