    Hi Deon

If you're moving down to Chch, you'll be in good company as a fair few of our members are already down there and loving it, so it can't be all that bad. Are you moving because you have a new job down there?

Thats good to know. I like the south Island, was bought up and raised down there in Picton.
I am moving for a number of reasons. My partner wants to further university study there and I have been offered a job/business opportunity in Real Estate with the company I have been with for while now. So am very very excited about the challenge. Wont be a smooth ride I dont think.
    Thanks for your comment.
At least I can now cheer for the crusaders without just about loosing my head.

I am making the move in 2 weeks time. So not alot of time for me to get everything in order.

If you want to know anything on New Plymouth I have a great blog which is about New Plymouth. Have a look at New Plymouth Blog When you get there just click the new plymouth tag and there are heaps of articles on New Plymouth etc.

Just quickly though New Plymouth is just such a relaxed and safe place to live. Life just seems to go on without any major stresses at all here. There are many parks, walkways and awesome surf and the mountain is close. Although I have to move I will still like New Plymouth. It was voted the best city in new zealand (christchurch was runner up) and was also voted best city of a population up to 75,000 in the world. People pride New Plymouth and it shows. If you are wanting to move here, go for it, and your right industry is going strong still and will continue to.

I know not long at all.

No I havent got anything sorted. Only thing I sorted was selling the house, but I wont be buying any time soon. Lost too much on this one. (the realities of life unfortunately).
I will be working on miadras street. In the city by the square. So am looking for somewhere close to there. Will probably flat for a few months, want to be in or around the st albans area i think. It will be a number of months before my partner comes down to join me so am not to pressured to find perfect accomadation at this stage.

I just perused your blog - what a wealth of information! Thank you.

Best of luck in Christchurch. If that's where we land, we'll be looking for you.
