Talking A big hello from a British Expat :)

    Hi there

I have been lurking on this forum for a little while now- I love reading all of the threads and especially love following the progress of people from the point where they decide they want to switch countries to the months after they have arrived. Very inspiring!

My name's Jen, I'm 25 and I moved from the UK to Auckland about two years ago (straight after finishing uni at the University of Kent, Canterbury). I also convinced my boyfriend of the time to give it a go. We had only been going out a few months when I suggested moving to NZ (must have been mad!) but we are very much in love and still going strong. Plus, he loves it here.

This place suits me down to the ground. I love being outdoors- I am a typical country girl with a love for horse-riding. I am buying my first horse since before uni this December which is very exciting. Also, taking up snowboarding so it's all go on the activity front!

Still a bit *ahem* low on Kiwi friends but my theory is that it will happen when it's supposed to happen. There's no point stressing about it.

Anyway, sorry for the long intro. As I've already said, I've been out here for two years now and feel like I have a good understanding of the country now (especially Auckland) If anyone needs any advice or info about NZ, feel free to drop me a line

P.S. I love these smilies- they're crazy, hehe.

    Welcome to the forum Jennifer

Are you originally from Canterbury? Glad to hear you're both happy with your decision to come here anyway

Also glad to hear you're not a lurker any more - come on in and join the fun

Hey there :) Nope, not originally from Canterbury. I was born in London but spent most of my childhood running around in the Essex countryside, lol
