Hi there everybody,

My wife and I are in the process of emigrating and hope to be in the Land of the Long White Cloud before long. Don't know exactly when because I'm a few points short of a skilled migrant visa so to speak, so I need a job first.

I've got a few job possibilities on the go but I need an offer before we can apply for the visa. It looks like the Auckland area will be our likely landing ground which will be great, but it could be anywhere really.

Doesn't the time pass slowly when all you can do is wait?

Anyway, we'll let you know how we're getting on, and when we get there we'll let you all know that too, and who knows, our next best friends could be the very people reading this right now. Let's hope so.

Good luck with the hunting. My hubby has recently been in contact with some employment agencies and some worldwide companies who are quite helpful with regard to jobs, so hopefully you will experience the same.

We are in the Uk also, hoping to move out within the next year... but depends on hubby getting a job! haha

Thanks everyone for the good wishes. Sorry I haven't responded but I forgot to tick the email notification option, and anyway didn't expect replies this quickly.

Nicky, my OH is my wife and she's a secretary. Me, I'm in IT and have been for more than 20 years.

Caz, looks like we're in the same boat then. I've had some joy with Seek.co.nz and hope one of them leads to the all important offer. I'll let you know. Good luck to your husband in his search.

Whole process from beginning to approval and blue stickers in passport...3 months and 9 days.



18th September...Fares Booked...Texas to Wellington.

5-11-08- .Flying out from LAX...ONLY 22 days to go.


This Kiwi is flying home.
