Arrow Got to get a life in NZ

Hi,

Name is Maxius, everyone can call me Max. Living in Pakistan at moment. I am a Software Engineer by profession and would like to move to NZ to get a new life!

Like NZ for its clean environment and good career prospects in ICT. I've got lots and lots of queries in backup to ask from you guys. Hope all the intelligent fellows on this forum would help me out...

I am able to score 110 points at moment. Should I go for EOI now or wait for more points to make my case bit stronger? What do you guys suggest...

Maxius
Go...4...IT...Max

Hi Max and welcome to the forum.

I guess it's up to you when you submit your EOI. If anyone has 100 points or more they can submit but, obviously, the more points you can get the better it will be for you. One way of getting more points is to try for a job offer. Apart from this, if you don't have any other ways of getting more points, there's not much point waiting . If you want to submit now you can always inform INZ later on if you do get a job offer.

Hi and welcome on board.

If you are in IT you will certainly be required in NZ. If you did submit your EOI and then managed to secure a jo b offer at a later date then you can add it on.

Default Now in Wellington

Hi,

I had the same question last year. I work as well in ICT. I just jumped on the different jobsites from NZ and sent out my CV. Mid November last year I had the job offer and started with the immigration. Because a working visa is much faster then a PR I applied for this. I got a 3 years visa by beginning of January and we went 2 weeks later to Wellington. (It was all prepared and organized)

My wife, my daughter (8 months at that date) and me arrived well in Wellington after a 32 hours journey (coming from Zurich, Switzerland)

My wife and my daughter had only a tourist visa. They did the working visa (my daughter a visitor visa of course) here. By the end of February we had all a valid visa up to 2011.

Once my wife got the visa she looked for a job in ICT. No Problem. One week later she found a job by NZPost and I applied for PR. The fact that we both have a job, studies, ..., our EOI had 275 Points and was selected.

After we applied for the real PR.

We are still waiting ...

So, send your CV out, find a job, get a working visa, come to NZ, apply for PR

Good luck
Gnom

Big thanks for the reply... I'll keep in touch with other useful information...
I think, I'll have to conquer some money matters here and also look for a job offer in NZ; then I would be ready to move on...
