Default Residency Verbally Approved!
Thought I should introduce myself. Currently living in the UK with my husband (NZ citizen) and our 19 month old son. We applied last week for PR and have just had a call to sy it has been approved. Quite surprised that it took only 7 days when we expected to wait months! (I also had a problem with my medical so expected big delays!)
Very excited but anxious about how much work we have to do to get ourselves over to NZ.
Has anyone else been approved this quickly?

I'm a pretty optimisitic person, but with my current experience with the Department of Immigration, I would not believe my applications have been approved until I get it in writing. I do hope this is really happening for you; gives the rest of us who are waiting some hope that maybe it won't take up to a year.

New Zealand embassy in Washington now has all my paperwork as of June 4,2008. Now, just more waiting.....and waiting.....and waiting

June 30, 2008 - embassy received additional information requested

July 17, 2008 - email received and WORK PERMIT APPROVED!!!!!

Flights booked for August 4, 2008!

Arrived in Auckland on August 6, 2008. Eventually will be settled around Hamilton.

Just a quick note to say that I have received confirmation from NZIS in writing today so it really only took a few days. I guess the London NZIS office is really quiet at the moment...worth knowing if you are about to apply!

1st August '08...Husband received his passport containing "blue stickers".

Whole process from beginning to approval and blue stickers in passport...3 months and 9 days.

Got an e-mail today from our CO saying that our ITA had been approved in principle It was only lodged with them on Monday 28th - a total of 5 days. Can anyone beat that?
