Default Hi from Scottburgh, South Africa

Hi all

Im so glad I stumbled upon this website while searching Google. YAY, some advice givers

Well, let me start off by telling you a bit about me. Im have two kiddies, a daughter aged 13 and a son aged 8. I live in sunny Scottburgh, South Africa.

Ive been applying and applying furiously for jobs since October 2007. I e-mailed everybody, placed my CV on all employment websites, and applied for every single job that was applcable even if it said "only for people who have the right to work in NZ".

I was contacted by an Employment Agent in January '08 and weve been working together since then. He lined up a teleconference interview for me Wednesday evening...a whole hour long...and I heard the good next on Friday that I have the job. My documents to arrive soon!!!

Im really stoked. The job is in Whangarei, as far north as possible is better for me as I am not a cold-weather lover!

I have already received my unabridged birth certificate, police clearance, passport and went for my medical examination on Friday....results in a weeks time.

Welcome on board!

Congrats on the Job offer, sounds like you have everything in order but if you have any questions there is always someone around who can help you out.
There are a few others from South Africa on here too.

Beth

Hi and thank you!!

Well, I have a few questions but will browse the site before asking!!

Ive just done a search on Whangarei and found the answers very interesting. You can only get so much off the net but to get a personal opinion is so much better!!!

Hi Leeann and a welcome from me, too. You certainly seem to have taken the bull by the horns where job hunting is concerned and now you've come up trumps with a job offer. Well done! Good luck with your medical results. I'm sure they'll be fine.

Mother Bear is off on her hols in a few days so won't be 'on duty' for a while . That's not to say you lot can run riot around here. We're taking the laptop as there's WiFi in the hotel and I'll be looking in now and then to make sure you're not having wild parties and stuff behind my back. If you want wild parties, then wait until I get back and can join in - not that I'm particularly wild, of course.

Default Moving to Whangarei

Hello & congratulations on your job offer! I'm hoping to move to the Whangarei area in about 2 months, and once I'm there I might be able to answer any questions about Whangarei that you haven't found answers to.

Good luck with your plans.

Gina

Hi All,

i stumble upon this forum by mistake, but are so glad I actually did. I am a South African who lives in New Zealand now since 04 August 2006. It was the best step we could ever made.

I hope and pray that you lot will find that NZ can be a home. I struggled the first three months (homesick, missed my family, house, furniture etc), but I'm settled in now. Still get homesick by times, but I think that will always be the case. Any questions, please shout. Just don't make it to hard
