Default Hello all

Hello,

I'm just starting the journey to move to NZ with the family, what I mean is we're at the planning stage not on the plane, not yet anyway. You have an excellent forum here and I have so many questions I'm sure I'll get some great advice, thanks to Taffy for sorting out my registration problem.
To keep it short there is me, my lovely wife and 2 very young children who hope to be making the move in late 2009, not sure where to yet but I'm on a recce in April

Tangye

Default welcome

Welcome to the forum. We are also at the same stage as you and with similar circumstances i.e. a very young family. Which type of visa will you be applying for?
I am sure we will be asking all the same questions but I have already found the site really useful as there seems to be so many people ether thinking about or making the move to nz. Why are you thinking about leaving the UK?
Regards
Dawn

Hi, we too are in the early stages and are doing a recce at the end of April. We land in Christchurch 28th April we leave from Auckland on 22nd May. How do you intend to do your recce, we are considering a campervan at the moment, more flexibility the thought of not having to pack and unpack everyday. Then the next minute, i think i dont want to spend that long in a campervan, would love to know how other people have done it.

Ayup spanner and a vair vair spangly, titty stretching welcome to yers.

Well, we ad a campervan for a month when we fost got ere and we lived to tell the tale JUST! However, our kids are somewhat older than yours and the magic of smelling each others dirty socks, pants and armpits wore off rather quickly

It was convenient, as you say not having to pack and unpack constantly and I looked forward to laundry time at the campsites as it meant I got to drop out of all in wrestling once every few days I fear I would have ended up a dribbling, gibbering wreck in a corner wearing socks on my hands and a tea towel on my head if it were not for those precious pockets of solitary. (Taffy just you dare comment!)

Why Christchurch then?

Hello all,

sorry I haven't answered any questions raised here, I've been working away and then just working too much;
The main reason we're thinking of leaving is for the children, I just think they have a better chance in a country that's not packed with 60+ million people, we will be going down the skilled migrant route as I'm an engineer and my wife is a nurse, my 2 year old is Superman, or so he thinks, I'm not sure that counts though.
As for thre recce I'm still undecided, it's only me going so I will probably do a lot of driving but I've not decided yet, probably visiting Aukland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch, I'll have a better idea in a few weeks,

Jayson
