Will we be able to purchase a house in NZ

Hi Rog and Kym from the UK, we are seeking to move to NZ when we retire in 4 years time. We will be in our early 50's and do not need to work. i have made a few enqs and was told ...tuff luck no work no stay unless we have 1 million GB pounds to invest. can we purchase a property and then stay for 6 mths at a time. Or does anyone know a solution to our problem? Thanks for helping..R&K

Hi,

As they say, there's no retirement visa for NZ, so the only way in is via the investment category. You can buy property though, and stay for 6 months at a time, although the rules of the visitors visa is that if you stay in for 6 months, you have to stay out for 6 months too, before you can have another visitors permit.

thank you for your prompt reply, we thought that may be the case so will work on that scenario. We are over for a recce in Feb and will visit a few property offices to get a feel.
