Default Introduce Yourself!

Hi my name is Joanne and I new to forums. I will be moving to Auckalnd in March o6 with my partner Trevor. We are both 29 and very nervous. Currently packing house up ready for the shipment over to New Zealand. Looking forward to the move but very its very stressful (hoping to lose a few pounds). I finish work in 5 weeks which is good, but because I have been in my job 5 years I will probably feel homeless. My partner will be working for New Zealand Air Force so he has a job and at some point I will have to get a job too. Does anyone do Salsa?? I love it, a great way to meet people. If any one has any tips on what to bring, not to bring, what to do as soon as I land (apart from have a beer). Whats the weather like?? I will probably be asking alot of trivial questions and might ask the silliest of questions, so I apologise now. Just one thing is anyone a member of Les Mills Gym?? love body Combat.

Ta for now

Welcome to the forum Joanne and Trevor! Don't say sorry, we are all here to help each other! [smilie=welcome 2.gif] Congratulations on Trevor's job offer from NZAF! This is a great start to a new life in NZ and we are sure that you and Trevor will enjoy every single day.

I personnally only buy salsa from the supermarket but I do like them a lot, it goes very well with crackers and taco chips. If you have the receipe, you can post them on this forum to share with everyone.

Apart from the important documents, clothes, personal items that you cannot part with and sometimes pets, I would suggest you can buy most of the items here in NZ, some things are actually cheaper to buy than ship over so you should check the prices on the internet for similar items before making the decision. I believe that electrical appliances are probably more worth it to buy in NZ than ship over since you have to fiddle with the power plug (changing it to suit NZ standard)

The weather is mild most of the time of the year (although I don't sound convincing since I am not there yet..HA!) Again, it is true that NZ gets strong winds and sometimes freezing temperatures, intense sun, occasionally shakes and frequent heavy rains but I am sure everything else in between is pleasant and perhaps much much better from where you are now. :icon_wink:

Look forward to hear from you about your progress! Keep us updated and welcome again to this forum.

Cheers!

Hi Joanne. Again, welcome to our happy little band.

Pulsarblu, I believe Joanne is talking about the dancing style 'salsa' rather than the salsa food dip. If you are heading towards Auckland, there should be quite a few salsa places available, so you won't go without.
