Consultants!! Ayeee! That?s a dirty word on here. They charge a lot of money for something you could well do for yourselves, especially with some help from our forum members. I don?t think there?s anyone on here who?s used a consultant. You still have to provide the consultant with the information he/she needs. Doing it without a consultant just means you fill the forms in yourself.

There have been others who have had the struggle to prove their relationships, particularly Marksie, whose saga you can follow in the 2 links below. He had quite a hard time of it, trying to get past the red tape, but seems to be sorted now.

Good luck with it all. At least your fiance should get enough points to get in, as I believe his trade is sought after in NZ.

Welcome aboard, Angel. I'd say if you haven't yet paid your money, forget the consultant. Otherwise, really make them earn their keep. As far as I can tell, consultants hold your hand through the process to make sure you don't forget something, and offer referals to movers and job searches. Whoopee. The checklist you'll get with your ITA should provide sufficient hand holding, and other info can be found online.

As to the establishment of your relationship, May will be here in no time, relative to the application process (unless your application is already in).

hi selchie.thanx for your reply.its too late cos we'e already paid most of the consultants fees.never mind.they said they'd get him a job.im hoping they help to find somewhere to live.i wish id have talked to u lot months ago but my computer went wrong just after ijoined n took weeks to repair.we're hoping that once we've got our proof of relationship sorted that he can get a job n i maybe go as visitor until get residence permits.everythings whirling around in my head.we're in a very awkward situation.my fiance is not actually allowed to live here with me but we've taken the risk cos we cant afford him to carry on renting his old place out.we need every penny.so we need to go nz asap, but obviously need to save loads of money.if we get kicked out we probably end up at his mums but wont be able to stay there too long.now ive got some other girl moving in here as this is my works property n i just have to hope she doesnt say anything.my fiance may have to spend the odd night somewhere else to make it look good.THESE THINGS ARE SENT TO TRY US HEY!sorry if i gone on a bit but good to get it off my chest. ::):

Default Hello from Mark and Chris

Hello everyone,
We live in Surrey and doing our research( and its confusing ) and ARE going to NZ next May/June.
We plan to settle in Dunedin area and are still looking for jobs or thinking of buying or starting our own business.
But, it seems we have to both just up and go and sort things whilst out there which is what we are doing.
Selling up and putting our dive/ski gear and bits into storage ready to be shipped when we are settled and have jobs.
Bit, of a hitch is we have to travel to Japan/Chine/Thailand on route to visit and see a few sites but we will be there next year after enjoying a break away and refreshing on various sites.

Meantime, we are always logging on and looking for help and of course applying for jobs in NZ with us not on the wanted list!

Macfod, albeit a bit late.

Hope you manage to sort something out and can get to stay in NZ and eventually do what it is you want to do.

Best of luck.

With a Scottish name like Macfod (if it is indeed some semblance of your true name), you should be well suited for Dunedin.

Default Introduce Yourself!

Hello everyone! I am re-introducing myself...I haven't been around for some months now. But no one can stay away forever! I had definitive plans of moving to NZ about a half-year ago, but have had a few family difficulties since. So I am trapped in the US of A for now, but will hopefully break free soon enough. And if not, it's still wonderful to hear all your stories and see the beautiful pictures in the new (to me) photo-forum. I wish everyone the best of luck for all of you working on getting there, and those who are already there....live it up! :003:

Best of Luck!! :notfair:
