Hi Nicky and welcome ;)
Lucky you, simply being able to go back! We're heading out in July on little more than a wing and a prayer!!

Oh well, if you don't try, you'll never know!

Welcome, Nicky.

Not all of us are so daring and adventurous as Dawn and many of the younger crowd. My OH & I are overly cautious sorts, and will head over for a final job hunt and look-see before deciding to pack it all up.

If you search around the forum, you're likely to find some links to job sites. Good luck!

Cool Hello all,

I'm completely new to this forum malarky! My OH uses them a lot though.

We currently live Blackpool UK and are hoping to migrate to NZ in the future.

I work in IT & he is a painter & decorator.

Never been to NZ but are saving like mad to do so!

Hoping to get lots of tips and are more than willing to share our experiences.

Hey chadmat (would love to hear an explanation of your name...... )

A very big welcome to the forum. You have a long way to go but you've come to the right place for lots of helpful info and advice, and probably a bit of madness along the way ;)

Feel free to post anything you need to ask or know about if it's not covered on another thread. You've picked a great country to come to :)

Cool Thank you for warm welcome

Hi Welshgirl,
unfortunately there is nothing special about the name its just the 1st 4 letters of our surname and the 1st 3 letters of his firstname and it sounds ok!

Hi to MotherBear as well,
it's nice to have such a warm welcome from you both :)

Anyway, I best go and finish my assignment for my degree - I want those 50 extra points for when I complete my EOI !!!
(Even if it is still a few years away yet :( - nothing like forward planning! lol)

Hi selchie, you are all so friendly, its lovely!

My degree is in Computing and Statistics, it is with the Open University. So nothing exciting like brain surgery I'm afraid!

My OH is going back to college to learn joinery in September too!

We are both hope that the more skills we have to fall back on the easier it will be to find a job when we do emigrate!

Anyone else studying?
