Hi from me as well. Hope we can assist you on your way to the promised land.

Are you a fan of The Clangers, by any chance? I remember them well.

Ah, no. I meant seltzer water fights, like you might see in a Marx Brothers movie. Pie throwing is fun, too.

Hi Mike.

A hearty welcome to you. You will be a very useful addition to our happy band, seeing as you're already in NZ. We look forward to hearing from you again.

Dellboy, I think I've already caught up with you on another thread. Good to see you're still kicking around. :icon_biggrin:

Hiya guys, it's good to have you on the forum. I'm sure you'll ask away if you have any questions and perhaps Mike can answer some of the queries as he's already been here for a quarter.
Where in Welly are you living Mike? We're in Karori

Default Introduce Yourself!

Hello everyone!!! New Zealand is a favorite place in my dreams, I would love to experience the lifestyle someday.... reading so many forums and so many life changes to make the move has exhausted me( a bit nervous) I have a goal now, and New Zealand is on the top, and I plan to overcome the barriers... Kiwis seem like great people, so many helping hands and concerns for thier land. My master plan for NZ is too help in industry as a Boilermaker, hopefully on the S.Island. I have a beautiful wife with a green thumb and a gorgeous daughter with an abundance of drama, and they are very supportive. I have made communcations with NewjobZ in hopes of them finding me a good job, any feedbacks would be helpful. It is almost considered a sin to leave the US for reasons I do not know...so this is all I got, reading feedback forums on the puter trying to find reality of all this. My wish is to learn how to work and live in NZ legally and comfortably...

to the forum, Duke. Good to see you drop in and introduce yourself.

The decision to immigrate to NZ isn’t always an easy one, but you appear to have a close, solid family unit, which will go a long way to helping you overcome the trials and tribulations of relocating across the world to a new life.

NZ isn’t for everyone, but if you’ve done careful research beforehand, you should be ready for whatever is thrown at you. It’s a venture better undertaken with your feet firmly on the ground and your rose-coloured glasses tucked in your pocket, out of the way. If you go without the expectation that NZ is going to be everything you ever wanted, you may be pleasantly surprised rather than bitterly disappointed as some have been who have gone with preconceived ideas of an idyllic life. Money problems and missing family back home seem to figure largely in the list of reasons why immigration fails, so it would be wise to have a long think about these topics.

There’s plenty of help on the forums if you need to know anything and, if you can’t find something, just ask. Good luck with your decision and your move forward on it. I hope your application will go smoothly.

Welcome, Duke. I hope you enjoy your time on the forum, and good luck with immigrating.

I wonder if this is because of your location in the Heartland, where folks tend to be fiercely proud of America, and can't imagine a better place. Mostly, I hear expressions of envy or just plain curiosity.
