But please folks, can we pull the stops out that extra centimeter to respond to our intrepid members who cross to the other hemisphere and are ready and willing to endow us with their valuable knowledge. We?ve been a bit limp lately, especially with Ag28com and Fisheress who are both good people. They reported in, full of beans, to say they were back online and met with a lukewarm reception. Now they seem to have faded away (or, at least, that?s what it looks like) and it would be such a shame to lose contact just when it was about to get interesting. Perhaps there?s another reason for their absence, but I?d hate to think it was because we didn?t show sufficient interest. If members still decide they no longer wish to post on the forum, that?ll be their decision, but at least we?ll know it wasn?t down to our appearing to be disinterested.

I do not think they faded away due to our disinterests. Perhaps they are busy with their new life and there are many many things that need plenty of time to do. Naturally when that time is shifted to other commitments, time spend in front of the PC will be significantly shorten.

I am sure they will keep us updated soon and share their invaluable expertise.

Well, wouldn't you feel a bit let down if you bounced onto the forum after going all that way and only one or two people responded to your post? I'm sure a lot of people are very busy setting up their news lives but, if they've made the effort to spare some time to post on the forum, it's only polite to acknowledge them and encourage them IMO. As they say 'You only get back what you put in'.

Hi all

Been looking in for a few weeks, we are in the seriously considering moving stage at the present, but are a bit tied here due to family commitments. if that changes think we'll start on the road to moving.

My brother is already out in NZ and loving it. He's coming back over here for a month in June with his family for my dads 60th.

Will keep having a look about if thats ok.

Hi StevenSam, nice to hear from you, we don't have any authority at all but I'm sure no one will mind you having a nosey about!! We're not that far from you, having a cottage and b&b in Notts close to the Derbys border. We're planning too as we have to wait for our eldest daughter to finish her GCSE's next year but we get so envious when another one of the forum members steps aboard a plane as it feels like forever until we can even set the ball rolling!

Good luck with the fact finding mission - but if you have a bro over there already you'll get all the info first hand. Let us know if there's anything anyone can do to help!! The crew on here are great and a VAST amount of knowledge is held between them all.

Welcome to the forum Steve (nice name btw), keep us posted on your plans it's always great to hear what people are up to etc. There's quite a few of us with plans to come to NZ in the long term rather than the short so your amongst peeps in the same situation.

Well this is where it all started for me! I had a nosey with the intention of finding out a few gems concerning immigration and ended up with some great friends to chat to, loads of info, support when things went bad and interest in NZ life now I'm here.

It's great to see that as 1 person reaches their goal, another joins to start!!
