Good timing as you just are beating the rush in the mass exodus from the USA. Where in the us are you moving from?

Thank you, nickydwuk! I am a student nurse, graduating soon, so it makes me very happy to see the information in your signature line about the timing of your nursing registration, etc.

Cliff, we are currently in upstate New York, but can't wait to make the move and start living the NZ lifestyle.

Hi! I'm a US nurse working in New Zealand and would be happy to give you a better idea of what your timeline for registration might be. Needless to say, nurses from the UK are a bit more plentiful here, and nurses from the US are a tiny minority so there are a few complications because of that. It was NOT an easy process for me (even with 30+ years of experience!) But, I would be happy to answer any questions you might have, if I know the answers, and if I don't - I'll find out or try and send you in the right direction.
Arrived in Auckland on August 6, 2008.Now live in Kawakawa with my kiwi partner.
I just started working at Bay of Islands Hospital at the beginning of December 2009.
Work permit renewed and good until June 2010
EOI submitted and selected, case manager assigned and ITA received. PR application submitted 28/08/09
approved in principle 26/01/10, PR granted and received 19/03/10

Hi I too am starting the long process of researching the move to NZ from the US I am a special education teacher and currently living in FL my family and I have been in love with NZ for awhile and the way things are going here we just want to leave and live a more relaxed positive life style. HOw are things going for you? Have you actually applied for a visa yet? What steps have you taken so far?
