    Default PR Dilema

    Hi,
    Just inquiring about PR.
Given the current state of the economy, what would happen to my application if I lost my job after my Expression of Interest has been accepted?
Essentially I have 170 points currently as am working in a skilled job but with the current uncertainty am stating to get worried.
Without my job then my points would reduce drastically to just 90.
Would I still be able to apply for residency?
    Thanks.

I suspect that your PR application would not get any further if you did lose your job. Because you would be claiming points for your job, you would need to send in proof of your position and, if you had lost the job, you couldn't do this. If you still had 100+ points it would be OK although it could be that your application would take longer to process. I don't know if INZ would just suspend your application and allow you time to find another job or if you would have to start from the beginning again.

Let's just hope that your job stays safe at least until you have PR.
