    Default bad news from Scotland

Colins dad is really ill now , and looks like could be a few weeks.

We are really thinking its time for us to go back now
My dad has reassured us he will get all the help he can, and Colins sis has said they will all rally in.
Colins is 10th in his family, so loads of brothers and 2 sisters too help lol

Im concentrating more now on will immigration allow us time to arrange container
Will we be able to take pooch
And my poor wee bunny , will have to rehome home

Even if they were to renew our work permits, to be honest, i dont think i could go on again, through all this worry, when applying for pr

thinking now, go back and learn a trade.
Colin will get work as his brother and brother in law work in a place moving tyres. its actually not bad money too
I could either keep doing support worker, but thinking going for training in something else
at least there i could get training, maybe even for free
Also will get beneifits, financial help.
here the past 3 months ive been more unhappy than ive ever been in my life, due to the worry and uncertainty

Also im fancing central heating again lol
    A cold xmas
    Morrisons

    and of course Irn Bru

nah all kidding aside, this with Colins dad has opened our eyes too, about the distance thing

Who knows we might end up coming back in a few yrs, but will be getting pr from there next time

    oh gosh.

I beleive things happen for a reason, maybe NZ just isn't your place right now.
I'm sure you wll be allowed to arrange shipment of your belongings and great that you have family back in the UK to help you out.

Sad as it is, it's starting to look like you're being drawn back home. Such a shame after you've settled so well in NZ but, as Beth says, maybe this just isn't the right time. At least you know how it is there and can come back again in the future, knowing what the place is like and what it has to offer.

Good luck with the move back. It's good that you're beginning to see the benefits in going home. It gives you something to cling to.

    Hey Dawn!

I like the way you think and you sound quite excited to go back :)
I m sure there is a lot to go back to !

Immigration usually sends you a letter once your visas are cancelled saying:
Please make your way out of the country as soon as possible.
Don't worry too much about time, they won't come after you and as long as
you leave voluntarily they are happy anyway :)

    Good luck with the move!!!!

Kiaora , im Eileen, but hey no probs

Cheers for that, that is exactly what i wanted to hear.
I thought it would be a letter, was just dreading them saying sherrif officers will raid your house and sell your stuff for flights for you to go back
I even panicked at first, visualising dawn raids etc

god im such a panic merchant

but aye part of me is actually thinking it could be best, but im still getting sad thinking about wee Colin leaving school here,as he has lots of wee pals, and at the school disco the other week he was charging around chasing girls
    and so confident
The discos at the school in Glasgow, he just stood there all shy, and waiting on his one wee pal
We were at the beach there collecting wood, god how that depresses me , thinking how handy i am to the beach, wont have that in Glasgow
But i know now with immigration, its gonna be virtually impossible for Colin to get work
As the last interview he was at, and the pay was pretty poor compared to his last job, the guy said immigration asked him how many are applying for job
He had 76 applications, Colin was in final 6 or so, but immigration said have to offer Kiwi first
So even the job , that the other guy has been promising for couple month now, he will have to advertise and prove no Kiwi wants it, if there was 70 odd for a crappy paying job, then what chance does Colin have against a no bad pay job

its more a case of facing it, but because i know now its not gonna be our choice, its more being asked to leave, then we have to keep looking for positives in going back
And then with Colins dad, thats sort of finalising things for us too
We are not putting it down to a mistake though,as if the recession hadnt happened he would still be in work and we would be pretty comfortable off,and loving NZ
So no regrets,or bitterness, just sadness
But then i will get to see my 20yrold son again, and my family

    Hey Eileen,

No idea why I said Dawn haha I must have been dreaming away :))

No way, there is nothing you have to worry about at all!!!!

I know a guy who had his visa cancelled because he worked on a tourist visa, immigration sent him a letter saying he had to leave asap and that was a year ago.. he is still here! living in the same place so they even have his address!

You have absolutely nothing to worry about, just take your time and sort things out :))

    Never rains does it?

I think you said you were going to see Immigration today? Will be hoping that you hear some good news (or rather, some more promising news).

We will obviously be sorry if you do have to return, but sometimes things are just meant to be, and you can't live in this worry or you'll drive yourselves insane.

Will be thinking of you all,

    Lou

Thanks Lucy x We feel the same
Wee change of plan with immigration today
Going to see that consolate guy tomorrow at his house in Cashmere, he emailed us twice asking us to contact him and see how he can help us move forward in our situation
So waiting till hear what he says first
Also going to get some advice today
Then once we know where we stand, and what chance we have, then battle immigration, or get a letter like Simone says, and pack up

Besides Nicole is off college now with bad cough, had to keep wee Colin off school, as no one to pick him up at 3, as we have an appointment

    keep you posted
    thanks
    Eileen

    Hey M,

Sorry to hear the news. Hope you get things sorted without too many hassles.

Having joined MovetoNZ way back in the day, I have to say that I have always liked this forum because the majority of members are willing to share their more challenging experiences without being cynical and bitter or blaming NZ when things haven't quite worked out as perhaps they had hoped. Good on you for sharing your story - I think a lot of people considering the move will appreciate your honesty.
