Default Christchurch- Job with Aluminium in title

    Hi,
For those of you who dont know me and my nightmare problem
Maybe someone out there can help

Hubby has a work permit dated until jan 2010. Its made out for a company doing aluminuim composite technician(alu joiner really)
Anyway that company promised him work for 2 yrs, and then just in feb there decided, oh no we cant
    Didnt see the recession coming.
So hubby now has to find work with aluminium in title.

His last pay was in march.
So we are overstaying here, which immigration did say they do give you time to find work, just dont want 3 or 4 month down the line, and you still not working.
    so clocks ticking

Im only very part time, so apart from running out of time, cash ran out a very long time ago

So anybody hears of anything in this industry please message me
It would have to be in Chch as no funds to move again

    Thanx
    Meadow

Sorry, Eileen, it's only me and not a prospective employer. I was just clutching at straws in assuming he has tried all the window companies and any other companies that use aluminium in their business? Things are probably tight because of the recession where a few companies have gone through and the building trade is very quiet, but with a bit of leg work and phoning around, he might just find that elusive job.

Maybe putting a few more details of his job experience on here might prompt someone to ask around if there's anything going.

    Hi Motherbear
yeah the guy who keeps telling him that he has a job is aluminium windows installer.
He has to call him back again tomorrow, and if he still says he cant give exact date, then Colins going to ask him for a letter confirming that he will be offering work , once construction guys get out of building, and his company can get in and start installing.
That way we can nip into immigration and explain whats took so long, but he will have a job eventually

But still on lookout as this employer could still take a few weeks, and things are getting tight
