    Hello everyone,

I have some questions which someone may be able to help me with. Your help on this is brilliant as it will help to stop my head from spinning with all the questions going around it:

    1) I have a pet rabbit that I can not bring myself to leave him behind. Does anyone know if I can take my rabbit in the same way you can cats & dog? Or are they an animal that can not be taken?

    2) Has anyone transfered from into the NZ police from the UK? Any advice on how long it take and what I need to do etc?

    3) Is there an average amount of time that this take for everything to go through and moving to NZ (from start to finish).

    Thanks friends.

    Claire

    Hi Claire,

I understand that the transfer (from UK Police) process is straight forward enough.

New Cops - Applicants from non-New Zealand residents

You will have to spend 19 weeks at the Royal New Zealand Police College in Porirua. The transfer course is slightly shorter (only by a couple of weeks though)

While being trained you would earn around $34K and on graduation $50K and after 2 years as a Probationary Officer you are free to specialise into any field of interest you like.

Not being a cop I can't offer much more but Policing in New Zealand is some what different to the UK.

    Good Luck

    Hey all,

Thanks for the replies - they helped.

I am really upset about the fact that I can not take the rabbit with me.
He is a real part of the family --- sometimes he is more like a dog than a rabbit.
