    Default Expo in the UK?

Has anyone attended any of the NZ expos in the UK? Are they worth going to? Are there many employers there typically? Thoughts?

I am considering flying from the US to the UK for the Expo to meet potential employers and pass around my CV and wondered if this was a decent way to meet employers and worth the expense? We are still planning to visit NZ in the summer but if I could meet an employer who would be willing to offer employment then I will have enough points for an EOI.

    Your thoughts on the expo?

If you do a search for 'expo' or 'expos', with a bit of luck it should bring up some previous comments. You may have to pick your way through some other irrelevant stuff but it might at least give you a start.

Meanwhile, if anyone else has any up-to-date thoughts on expos....

If you are just trying to decide whether NZ is for you, and want to get an idea of the country, the Expos are great.

If, like us, you had sent off the EOI, done plenty of research, looked into potential jobs then we found it a bit of a waste of money. I know some people have gotten jobs out of it, but there were very few companies at the EXPO doing IT recruitment, and had more success looking at seek and trademe.

Perhaps have a look on the expo website, and see who's showing this year .. but I'd probably say it wasn't worth the airfare ... we trained there, and felt a bit ripped off and we only spent 100UKP getting there, and into the Expo itself.
