Most of the population is in the north so it would make sense the larger portion would be there.

    Default bay of Plenty

    Hi Terry,

Like you, my husband and I and our 2 small children will be living in The Mount. Aren't we lucky, eh?!!! We will be arriving in November. Will you be renting or buying? House prices seem to be high depending on 'which end' of Maunganui you look at.

    Will keep in touch!

    Hi Anna,

At first we are moving in with my partners mum until we find a place to rent on the Mount, gradually we will buy but going to wait a few years for the housing market to settle down.

What made you choose the Mount? and what sort of Visa did you apply for.

    Default The Mount!!

    Hi Terry,

Like you, we have temporary accomodation in Mount Maunganui. My sister and parents own a house there. Having been there a few times we have made friends etc, but we really need to find our own place. I'd say we will rent first. But the house prices in the Mount are expensive, especially where my parents house is, right next to the beach. We are also considering Otumoetai in Tauranga, beautiful houses and much more realistic prices. My daughter will be starting primary in June so we really ought to be settled by then.

We were awarded a permanent residency as my husband is an Engineer. We got some extra points because my sister is married to a NZ'er and has been living there for 10 years now. ( I am irish by the way!!!)

Have you been to the Mount before? It's a great place!!

    Must keep in touch.

    Cheers,

    Anna07
