Smile Part time workd experiences for SMC

Hello all,

I am new to this forum. Could anyone help me about following questions:
I hold a NZ recognized Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering and I have about 4 years full-time and 5 years part-time work experience in IT Service Support and Administration.

1- How should I claim for points for part-time work experiences?
2- Does Skilled Employment term means employment in NZ or not?
3- I have about 4 years of EcoTourism experience and hold an official "EcoTour Guide" license. Does it help if I write about this certification in my EOI?

Thanks in advance,
Farzad

Farzad.

This is what the Operations Manual says about part-time work. Perhaps it would be a good idea to read through the whole page just to make sure your particular part-time work experience is covered.

G4.1.10 Part-time work
a. Calculation of levels of work experience must be for complete weeks based on a 30-hour week.
b. Credit is given for 30-hour weeks only, even though a principal applicant* has worked more than 30 hours in any week.

Example: Fifty-two 60-hour weeks are equal to one year's work experience.
c. Credit for part-time work experience may be given on a proportional basis.

Example: Four years' work experience for 15 hours per week is equal to 2 years' work experience for a 30-hour week, and would therefore be awarded one point.

Skilled employment can be anywhere as long as it is in a comparable labour market, but NZ experience is highly regarded.

NZ is very big on tourism and I'm sure your Eco Tour Guide licence would be appreciated, but I doubt you could claim extra points for it if you are claiming for your computer engineering etc.
