Four weeks ago I spoke with my case officer and he told me that he has every document needed and that he will make a decision within 4 weeks. After 4 weeks I wrote him an email asking the status. The answer was that he will make a decision within 4 weeks.

This waiting period seems to be endless. Anyway I have a Working Visa till 2011 but I want this PR for me and my family before we settle definitely in NZ. I guess in the UK the process is a lot faster?

I have heard that applications made in NZ tend to be dealt with a lot slower than in other places. Perhaps they are much busier than branches in other countries or it could just be the kiwi laid-back approach.

It's not faster in UK, it averages 6 months wherever you are. We've just had our residency approved in principle and we first lodged it in November last year. 4 weeks would be a super quick turn around time - don't set your heart on it

Does this mean the porblems with your sons dad are sorted? Congrats.

Hi,
I lodged my application on 5th May but have not got the visa as yet. case officer keeps telling me "we are in the verification process"
I thought I was the only one waiting but seems we are many! Anyway mine is just a temporary work visa but I have been waiting for about nine weeks now. Lodged my application at the South African office.
Lets just be patient. by the way have you heard that "No news is good news''....so keep waiting and praying !
