Question Teenagers and schooling?

I have three children - two teenagers (16 and 15) other at primary age. We are hoping to move to Auckland next October, by that time they will be 17, 16 and we were wondering about schooling. My daughter would have completed her AS level and my son his GCSE's and both would like to continue with their education - but I keep finding conflicting advice with regards to this. Is further education such as colleges free or will we have to pay for it? Also, are there GCSE qualifications recognised by NZ? Anybody able to offer some advice it would be much appreciated.

My son will be 16 ( haven't finished his GCSE's here). As we have PR he can go to school to complete years 12 &13 and so gaining the NCEA levels 2&3 free or he could go to Uni but would have to complete a 6 month foundation course first. Obviously Uni would work like it does here with fees to be paid. My understanding is that with PR he would be able to get student loans to cover fees, I think. As for your daughter she would have the option of going to Uni and completing a foundation course or completing year 13.
