Default How are you coping with rising living costs?

Was the question NZ Herald asked... millions of answers, everybody s whinging and complaining (which is understandable too) but this guy had by far the best answer.. and he is sooooo right!

Yes, sometimes it gets a bit tough, actually sometimes it's damn hard. Once income tax & DPB recovery (child support) are taken out, I am left with around 48% of my income to survive. My monthly pay goes in and two days later the bills are paid & I'm broke. However, if I compare myself to 95% of the world?s population; I eat like a king (Myself & my partner are good cooks which helps), live in a palace and drive a luxury vehicle. OK my `palace' is a 3bdrm kiwi box and the car is a 2000 Vw golf, but I'm making general comparisons here. I am surrounded by the absolutely undeniable beauty of this country and enjoy the sound of the Tui daily. I can go fishing, swimming, walking, skiing, painting, climb trees, kick balls, play cricket or frankly whatever the heck I feel like doing - whenever I feel like doing it - anywhere in the country I feel like being. I can absolutely guarantee that every day I leave my home I will not get shot or blown up, nor will I see my children starve or suffer untreated illness. If you were to measure your life on money, you may see yourself as poor, but if you open your eyes you will see the richness & beauty of life in NZ. This is what I teach my children.

Does it sounds like I'm having a bad week?

It's all because of that Welsh fella, you know, the one who says he's a referee, the one who ruined a good game of rugby last Saturday night

Watch out for me on Skysport1 this week. I'll be in the front row (of the stands) wearing white!

And here's the link to all the answers. Shows that a fair number of people are turning to self-sufficiency.
