I cant wait,i keep getting surprised when i remember different things that we have coming.
Im sure ive read somewhere that you can track your ship, does anyone know how you do that?
And what about maf inspectors,do they get in touch with us,or does the removers deal with them?
Cheers

I've used this to track a shipment from the UK to Oman. I had the name of the ship and searched for it that way. It was great until it reached Yemen then disappeared off the radar. I hoped and prayed the ship hadn't sunk, but we eventually got notification from the people at this end that the shipment had arrived in Muscat safe and sound. We dealt with it all via emails, so it was fairly straight forward. Your shippers should have given you some info and paperwork regarding claiming your shipment when it reaches its destination.

You will be notified when it arrives by the shipper. MAf inspection for household good is not a big deal. Don't know who your removalist is but you may need to schedule the actual delivery to your house.

Cheers,

Cliff

We shipped our container from Switzerland to Wellington. It took about 7 weeks. Before the container arrived in Auckland our moving company sent us the paper to fill out for the MAF. After the goods arrived in Akl the people from MAF checked the paper and decided which box they wanna see. When the container arrived the moving company had a list with what the MAF will inspect the following day. These things were put in the garage. The next day a lady came and inspected the things. She was very helpful and did not make any troubles.

I have heard bad things about NZ Van lines & Moving Company. I take it the Chch branch of NZ Van lines were good? I am about to get some quotes from shippers here and who they use in NZ will have an impact on who I choose.

I have, too, in the past, but nothing much in recent times. I wonder if they've been forced to clean up their act. About time too.
