Talking we got it

the work permit. Dated until 2010
It took 59 days.
So hubby off to work on monday. Heading to the school with my 6yrold monday also to get him started.
And hopefully my 16yrold daughter into college.
Also went out yesterday and got a cute wee dog out the adoption centre, been promising the kids one for ages.
Had wee celebration last night,so feeling slightly shitty today,

Thanx B
Ive pmd you
We got the meds done in N.Z as they are cheaper here, you need to submit them even for a 1year work permit.
Though 6yrold didnt have to do xray or give blood, but my 16yrold daughter did and poor wee soul nearly fainted giving blood. That took lot coaxing and bribing that day.

Well done & congrats on WP & jobs. I know how your daughter feels with the blood tests. Mine (18yrs) was the same. They also had to do it twice as the first time they couldn't get any blood. Then she had to have extra tests 2 weeks later. She really bit into her hand. All worth it though as we got approved today

Default thanks

cheers for the replys.
Its been great going out and being able to buy things, instead of keep saying oh we better wait, just incase.
Congrats to you Nickydw
And yip Dawn gonna have to get onto the next stages soon.
Dont know if we should wait though till hubby,s training finishes,as he is doing 3 month training to start with.
Probably take us that time to get all the paperwork sorted out
Ive got to hand in my work permit and the kids student forms next.Dreading filling these out,but has to be done.
Still thats the first hurdle over

Meadow, congrats! We have plans to be in NZ at the end of this month and will be going through the same process of waiting for a job offer and filing for WP while at the same time submitting our EOI. Seeing that you've done it, I'm very hopeful. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Cindy,
Good on you for deciding to go for it. Like us you probably feel that you will always regret not trying.
We got loads good encouragement from forums(wish i found this one sooner) and i also searched Kiwis on myspace, and now we are good friends with a couple who stay not to far from us.
Actually i had never even touched a computer until i decided we were making the move.
We found the hardest part was the goodbyes to family, especially my 18yrold son
The rest has been fantastic, and we just traveled around the island while waiting on the permit, cause now hubbys started work(todays his first day)We wont get around so much, only weekends
But hey its freezing here now in CHCH so content to stay in with my wood burner.
Good luck to yous and i will be folllowing your progress, anything i can help with, just ask
