Default Sparrows flying the nest

Hi
I thought better give you all update and our plans to be in New Zealand
Mr S left the UK a month ago to start job in Wellington have to say all very quick and came upon us all at once
I was left with the two children who will be moving to New Zealand with us, the furniture to ship off and house to sell. I have to say been so hard work and my stress and effect has left me with nearly a stone in weight loss, also a very sad heart as I miss Mr S
I have decided that I am leaving the house to sell as I no longer need the stress and need to be a family as we agreed with a new life in New Zealand
So just booked our flights from UK on Monday 28th April and we will be flying to be with Mr S on Wednesday 30th April from Auckland to Wellington
I believe we have secured a lovely fully furnished property in Waikanea on the Kapita Coast and there I shall rest for a couple of weeks before I start to seek work
To say I am excited is to say the least, on countdown now. Looking forward to the Wellington group meet up and good old chat

Debs

Well done on booking the flights, shame you couldn't get the house sold before you left but needs must.

We have been in Welli for 3 weeks now, have driven through Waikanae on our travels- looks a lovely place with some very nice properties but seems quite a commute into Welli. I beleive the trains are pretty reliable though.

Good luck for the flight with the two kids (how old are they?)

Beth

Good luck, Debs. Packing up and selling a house is stressful enough when you do it as a couple but, on your own, it can be very difficult and tiring. The housing market seems to have slowed right down in the UK, like a lot of other places, so you've probably made the right decision to go to NZ now, otherwise you might have been stranded there for quite a long time waiting for the house to sell.

Hope you have a good flight.

Default Ages

Hi Beth
The kids are 15+ and 10 + so plan to relax on the plane and sleep plenty, they can take care of themselves and me as I hate flying.
Not sure if going to stay in Wakanae due to the commute, although suiting my husband at the moment whilst he commutes to Wellington everyday.
To be honest it sounds like there is a little circle of ex-pats who catch the train everyday
It will depend on my work as I think after working full time I will be looking at part time work, so I am looking at Param as there is more trains in and out Wellington
Hopefully we will meet for a coffee as I am sure it will not be long before job offer comes your way
Sending you good luck vibes, until we meet

Debs

So you should have quite an easy flight then.

Paraparamu looks lovely and some great properties and views there. There is an express train that runs from there into welli- think it stops only twice on it's way in.

We have just put in an applictaion to rent a house in Camborne so hubby will cath the express from Plimmerton into Welli (when he has a job), well providing we get the house anyway.

I'm sure we will make time for coffee soon enough.

Beth

I am a New Zealander who lived on the Kapiti Coast (Waikanae) before relocating to Texas, USA. It is a truly beautiful place. We are hoping to live there when we arrive back in NZ.

Good luck.

Suzanne.
