Getting somewhere??

Well it's been 2weeks since we arrived and Neil has now secured his first REAL interview (the one's with the recruitment agencies don't count) on Monday!!

Let's hope it goes OK then we can start moving on with everything else. He's applied for a couple of other jobs to so smeone should come up with something!

Well after they changed to interveiw he finally made it this morning.

The interveiw went really well and they guy that saw him is very keen on Neil. He is however referring him to another part of Telecom (where he thinks Neil will be better suited) for a second interveiw but says if they aren't interested then he definately is.

There is no specific role available at the moment, think they are just constamtly trying to recruit and wait for a role to become available. He told Neil if he gets a job offer from anywhere else to let him now- I presume he might try and 'find' a job for Neil in that case as he seems very keen to have him on board.

Just got to sit and wait again to hear about a second interveiw but seems as though we are getting somewhere- slowley!

Looks like Neil has made a good impression but it does annoy me when they turn round and say there's no position available at the moment. It's OK if they interview you on that understanding, but very disappointing if you think you've done well at interview and then are told the job is only a 'maybe in the future'. Perhaps the other Telecom people will come up with something a bit more solid.

Well he kinda had a feeling it was just a general recruitment advert he had responded to rather than a specific role but if they can find him a job or make him one up then we don't care.

If there is no specific role yet they could put him an employment offer in writing so we can get visas sorted and he can start work when we have PR in a few months time ( yeah as if we'd be so lucky).

Still waiting to hear on a couple of other jobs the recruitment agencies have put him forward for anyway- although one is only and 18mth contract which won't do us for PR. Justgetting fed up of the waiting- limited on what we can start todo before Neil has a job.

Are they allowed to do that? I got the impression that INZ is pretty strict on knowing the ins and outs of any job offer in writing.

Hey - just read this! Fantastic news Beth .. really hope you (ie. Neil) gets a job offer soon. Will be such a weight off your mind.
