Default What is a "middle-class" wage in NZ?

I've been reading about the cost of living and low wages in NZ. So what is a middle class wage for a single person? Liveible wage?

Default Check this site

You should have a look at the Quality of Life Report. It does a good job of breaking down incomes in NZ's 12 largest cities, as well as comparisons to outside the cities.

Default Interesting.

KH, I was reading your story and struggles and am lost to understand why the difference between what is being marketed to the international community and what you and many others have experienced. I see the same marketing for teachers here in California posted by NZ. I'm in the aviation industry and hear NZ wants my experience too??? That was what prompted my question about earnings and quality of life. Thank you for the link. I'm single and maintain a rather low maintenance lifestyle but we all want at least the basics to work with and set our own balance points. Here in Southern California even with 3 degrees, and 20 years experience in my profession that I don't want to give up (plus I'm a tad to old to start from scratch).
I find I'll most likely never find that balance. My industry believes that after age 40 you are disposable and replaced my those with little experience but willing to work for nothing more than a what they need for a fancy car lease and sharing a home with 4 room-mates until they turn at least 30. Thanks again and good luck, it's only February!
