How much help can a NZ employer be?

What can the employer do to help if your an international applicant such as myself?

As usual, it depends on the employer and how far they are prepared to put themselves out to help.

The least you could hope for is a letter confirming the job offer and salary, as this is what you will need when you apply for your WP. I get the impression that you would have to apply for your own WP rather than expect the company to get it for you. Some bigger companies may go so far as to help with paying your airfare and shipping your belongings to NZ, but these are few and far between. I would suggest, if it sounds like a company is going to offer you a job, you ask them if they provide these extras or they might even tell you themselves as an incentive to your joining them.

Very good point MB, really not sure what they may offer a position. They are about 400 employees strong so maybe they can help with the WP or incentives like you mention. Time will tell.
