Default Car insurance legislation in New Zealand

    Hello everyone,

My name is Vasilis, i am from Greece and i am doing a reasearch about New Zealand's car insurance legislation, and i have some questions for you!

-Does anyone know if there has been a recent reform in this section?

-Do you know if there is public sector coverage in case you have an accident?

-Is there a public scheme that covers car accidents?

Hope i dont ask too much!

    Kind regards.

Not sure regarding public service schemes or otherwise but car insurance in NZ is not compulsory. Have not heard of any new legislation on this issue

What is compulsory is ACC which is a percentage of yr pay on top of the tax which pay on yr salary. Anyone in NZ who gets injured will be covered by ACC even car accidents. Obviously the car is not covered by the ACC:)
