next query. Does anyone know if i am okay to learn to drive in new zealand if my application for residency is accepted , ??

I can't see any reason why not . It doesn't mention anything on here apart from needing to be 15 years old or over.

You can read up about learning to drive on here . There's even a practice section for questions that may be asked in the theory test. We also have a link to a mockup of the scratch card test on here but the site seems to either be defunct at the moment or is no longer functioning, which is a shame as many of us made good use of this facility. We'll just have to keep trying in case it comes back up again.

You can drive on an overseas license for up to 12 months.

The only time that it might be a problem is when trying to rent a car. Some rental places require an International License, but as far as I can tell, most of them don't, so I wouldn't worry about getting one right away.

You can learn to drive a car as a visitor, there are no regulations on who may hold a NZ drivers license, as long as you are eligible in the other aspects.
