    Default Spam Rant!

Ok, got to do some naming and shaming of our latest visitor who thinks the rules don't apply - yes I'm taking to YOU "Stacey"

Thank you for sharing with us that you happen to stumble across a great guide for bored kids, how much of a life saver it is etc and offering tips on where you 'think' you can buy it - it sounds great but I had to delete the post. Why? Let me tell you:

When trying to purposfully mislead people in to buying your product by falsly representing it with fraudulent advertising, it pays to do a few things:

    1. Don't be listed as the registrant for the domain name you're trying to push
    2. Don't have your name clearly visible on your website as the Managing Editor
    3. Don't attempt to take the piss out of our members by lying to them.

So, I'm not suprised you stumbled across a copy, you must have boxes of them in your back room.

As a New Zealand registered company, I'm sure you're aware that fraudulent advertising is illegal, right? I wonder what the NZ Herald would make of the story....

You supersleuth, you. Go get 'em.

Why do you soft delete though when the original post (and the offending link) can still be read by one and all?

Only you can see that as moderator Bear. Sometimes I hold on to posts from traceable companies as evidence in case I feel like making trouble

I often wonder what I can see that others can't. Oh the thrill of it.

So you know what I'm going on about, this was the original post, edited of course!

I just wanted to let everyone know that I just picked up this fantastic guide for families called the *BLAHSPAMBLAH*. Its a thin orange book but it has got so much in it. There are heaps of venues to take the children to, there's a long list of events for next year for the children and there's a lot of outdoor activities in it too. I'm putting it in my daughters xmas stocking. We've only been here for a while so its a godsend. It says you can order copies online at *BLAHSPAMBLAH* but I got it at my local grocers. I really recommend it especially since the school holidays are coming up.
    thanks everyone.
I think the next publication due out from them is "How to mislead your clients and gain a bad reputation in one easy post"

The stupid thing is, it sounds like a good publication and if they'd been upfront, honest and asked permission I would have let them post it! As it stands, if they are willing to try and deceive people then they've got no place on this website.

Our hero! Thanks for fending of the spammy hordes, Taffy.
