OH has finally decided that we are definitely moving to NZ and is now all fired up to get the house cleared and is deciding what to take and what to leave.

I have also had an estate agent in today to value the house and he gave me a price that was identical to what we had hoped so that was really positive. Now we know that we should have enough money to bring with us to buy a reasonable property.

Now we just need to get our EOI submitted, ITA sorted, OH's redundancy package sorted & then we can book flights and will be on our way

Great News Nicky.

Good job he's made up his mind seen as you already have a job lined up.

Hope everything runs smoothly for you and that it doesn't take too long to sell your house- once you've made up you mind that you want to leave everything seems to take forever to happen.
We have a surveyor coming tomorrow so hopefuly things should start moving along with our sale now.(FIL here we come).

Yeah it's OK.

We get on quite well with the FIL and his wife any they have plenty of room for us (2 spare rooms so we don't have to share with the kids) which is a good thing seen as we are staying with them until March. They both work all day so I will have the place to myself (well and the kids) while everyone's at work.

OH started his contract today- it finishes on 28th feb so we could be heading for NZ in March sometime.

Any news on the OH job Nicky?

Not yet Beth. He will stay as he is and wait til next spring - hopefully they will have another redundancy package - if not he said he will ask if he can take it and make up some story about how personal circumstances means he has to leave but not tell them he is emigrating as they wouldn't grant it then. Just have to wait & see. At the end of the day if he doesn't get it we will have to use our house money to fund the relocation and just get a bigger mortgage in NZ. Not all is lost

I'm late coming into this (been out all day), but would like to add how great it is to hear someone feeling so happy. Strike while the iron is hot, Nicky. Nail him down in case he reverts to dithering again.
