Hi All, it's been a while, but I still pop by and catch-up with eveything! Shell Bda and I are both single mums of two year olds, which is why we are trying to come out together, so we can support each other, but it is very scary and worrying to consider making this massive move with little ones as single mums! Hopefully, it will all go well, but we are still a ways away from the big move and my son should be at least 3 by then, which will help!

We havn't logged on to this site for ages (we used it a lot when still in UK).
I checked in tonight and read your post - guess what ? We live in Whakatane, just off Hillcrest, so a few minutes away from you. We have just booked our first visit back to the UK next July, my mums health isn't great so we feel we need to take our two boys back for a visit while she is still well.
We have very mixed feelings going back so soon (we will have been here 2 yrs in Feb). We love it here, obviously in a different position to yourself. We are hoping we will still feel that we really want to return after our visit, we can't imagine not wanting to come back at the moment.
What school is your daughter going to? Our boys are at St Joseph's. I like to walk along Ohope beach as well and always feel very lucky when I do that we live in such a beautiful place.
We also feel though that it is expensive to live here, especially as the wages are comparitively low. My husband has a good job and I'm just doing some relief work to help out.

I have just posted a reply to you and then read through some of your posts - do you work at Whakatane hospital, I know a couple of girls who work there (one has a 11 yr old daughter!).
