Take a look at this lot and see if it changes anything for you. Comes into force at the end of this month. Fingers crossed it's for the better, not for the worse, but some folks are going to be disappointed.

Bonus points have been increased, reduced or removed for various situations and the salary threshhold for certain visa types has risen from $45,000 to $50,000, so those little pointers alone might cause people to re-assess. They may seem like small changes, but could possibly mean a lot, one way or another, to those who are sailing pretty close to the wind.

Reading through the full document shows all the other changes, therefore it's worth reading so no one gets caught out. I didn't read through it all, but couldn't see any changes for Family Sponsorship, so that was a relief as far as we're concerned. Not that they aren't cooking something up behind the scenes as they may be looking to reduce the number of immigrants entering NZ as per my posts in the 'What's in the news?' section. Worrying times all round, I'd say, for those of us still waiting to move. Can't take anything for granted.

I can't seem to be able to open the documents. All I get is that it is downloading and then downloaded but no document!!!!

I was just about to say 'Typical of NZIS site' as I often have trouble like that with opening their documents, but I did check both links and they do work for me. Perhaps try again later or tomorrow to see if it's cleared by then.
