Have you got Windows Media Player installed on your PC? I think I had a message come up saying there was a problem but after a few seconds the big screen came up and a few seconds later it started playing. Perhaps I clicked Play - can't remember offhand.

Do you know what version of Windows (ie 98, 2000, XP, Vista) and Windows media player you are using? Are you on an office network?

loopylu is an unknown quantity at this point

I'm using windows XP and I think it was windows media player version 10... however on a more positive note... I've logged on my main computer this morning and it works fine on this one...
So just the laptop that seems to have the problem so will just have to listen on this one instead

My turn now - wouldn't you know it!!

I tried to bring up the player and the screen came up but it put up a message that I couldn't connect to it. Can't remember exactly what it said as I had to go and do 'things' and now I can't even bring the screen up. It won't open at all for me when I click at the top. Have I broken it - it's bound to be my fault. It's been working fine since it was first launched.

That's just it - I can't open it at all now. It looks like it's opening something at the bottom but the screen doesn't come up and it just does nothing and disappears again. I've tried from the website link and the one at the top of the forum. All I can remember about the message is that it was something to do with the player and at the bottom it said 'Media changing'. I was in a rush to get the tea so didn't have time to study it too closely. Was just putting it back on as hubster likes some music in the evening.

Right I see... that narrows it down to around 10 squillion possibilities then

Sounds like your media player threw a wobbly, but hasnt shut down correctly. I reckon a reboot is in order for you MB.
