Taffy can only hope to improve
Default Appreciate great help?

Many a 'thank you' has been given to people who give their time to help, and lost in the wealth of posts. Not any more...

You'll notice when reading posts, that opposite a users name where the post count, location etc is, there's a small coloured block. It can be Red, Gray or Green. This is a users reputation block. In the icons above that, you'll see some silver 'justice' scales. If you think a person has been helpful (or even less than helpful), please give them your approval by clicking on the scales and voting.

You can hover over the coloured block to see the users current reputation level.

So, did you assign yourself the "infamous" status, Taffy? At least it wasn't "Taffy who?" ;)

No, the forum did that. It started me off with a negative reputation! It now says I can only hope to improve!

Well at least we know that the forum doesn't play favorites. ...Or maybe it does, and just doesn't like you :-\

Hi Taffy,

Do you have to activate something to get the scales up as I've noticed the scales dont appear in everyone's post??

Is it just new posts that have been added to or created since you made this change that will show the scales?

I'll add to this by asking what is the purpose of the little red and yellow 'pages' that bring up 'Add infraction to ......' . Is that some kind of punishment we can dish out if a member misbehaves as opposed to using the scales when someone's good ?

I notice that Taffy and I haven't got the infraction icon. We're obviously just too good to be true.

Amy, I've noticed a lot of previous posts where the members' usernames aren't in red - they're in smaller black text that you can't click on. It's these posts that don't show either the infraction icons nor the scales. Something must have happened to them when they were switched from the old forum to this one.

The posts without the scales, with the names in the small black font, are ones that the forum wasnt able to link to a member when the transfer happened. This is why some members have lower post counts than they used to. I'll be working to restore it all, once everything else is cleared up.

The infractions (red and yellow cards, like football) are to give people tellings off for being naughty. I think it's only admin and moderators that can use that though.
