Taffy - when's the chat room coming back?

After we got crashed before, by the !!*&"@?"*, you said we were gonna get our chat room back in a bit. Where is it then? And how long is a bit round your end? [smiley=eusa_snooty.gif]

Have you considered an irc chat with a client Taffy?
I don't know exactly how they work or if they're safer from hackers and whatnot. But I used to go to two South African chat servers quite regularly using mIRC, which uses less ram than java for instance, which is great when you don't have a lot of ram heh, my pc is over 6 years old now and it's always great to not have to restart every 10 mins.

The chat room that was on here was Flash, so not as greedy as a good ole Java one. I'm not sure IRC would be a good solution, as it's not the easiest of things to use, and it means installing software which people might not want, as most wont already have a chat client. It's also a place you dont want to be without a good firewall!

Anyway, a bit has turned out to be longer than planned, as it turned out the chat room also had a security hole in it, which has just recently been fixed. It wont be too much longer now 8-)

Yep, it works for me. Had to remember to register first before signing in. :)

Would be useful if there was a indicator on the forum index as to whether anyone was in chat. Otherwise, it is a case of going through the palarver of signing in, minimising, and waiting very very patiently for some soul to join you!

OK, so who's had me barred? It won't let me in no matter how I log in. I've registered several times and in several different ways but it won't have it. Takes me to the blue log in screen but tells me my username or password isn't correct.

Probably thinks I'm mouthy enough on the main forum.

Theres an indicator on the chat login page now, to show whos in the chat room. I'll eventually get one up on the forum too.
