It will definitely be going ahead at some point - how about people throw a few ideas this way as to where it might be..... We're just waiting for a reliably dry, warm & decent weekend and it looks like the weather's taking a turn for the better lately, so hopefully it will be soon.

If anyone wants to PM me their cellphone number, if you can't pop in to the forum too often for whatever reason, I'll gladly keep a note of them and let y'all know personally when something definite is arranged.....

OK, well I'm always at the front of the queue when it comes to social events (!) so can I put in my ideas, please?

Cos we have 2 little kids we would prefer to not have to travel toooooo far - I know the original post mentioned Taupo which would be an ideal travelling distance from us. ?Obviously they are not really up for extreme sports (actually they probably would be, its me that's a complete woose -sp! - ::)) and they probably wouldn't be welcomed at decent restaurants ?;D - but picnics, drinks, sedate boat trips etc might be possibilities?

We are busy the weekend of the 13-15 October and possibly one other weekend in Oct/Nov, but apart from that we can rearrange things to get away for a meet-up - it would be good to have a bit of notice, so WelshGirl I will pm you my number so you can let us know when venue/date are decided on.

We would all be up for a meet-up too! Taupo sounds great, we've not ventured down that way yet and would be nice to meet up with other folks from the forum.

Would have to bring our 3 grots with us though ::)

I'm bumping this back up again, as more people are about to arrive in NZ shortly and others just rejoining the forum after moving may be looking in. ?Serves as a prod to the host and hostess as they go about their busy lives. ? [smiley=icon_mrgreen.gif]

I've also retitled it to try to attract more attention. If it's not firmed up shortly, I'll have to retitle it again to Summer Meet. [smiley=Lol_2.gif]

Well, we've entered the windy season now, and there's no telling how long that could last! I might well have to be a summer meet at this rate. Keep an eye on the weather, people! Of course, we could always just go for an indoor venue or something?

Why not have both - a spring meet and summer meet? ?It would be a miracle if everyone who has shown interest will be available on the same day. ?(By the way, I'm down that way for a few days from 20th Jan. ? ;) ;D)

As an excuse to bump this back up again, here's a suggestion for the Spring Meet in Taupo. ?

Hot pools .
Hot water fun pool .
Activities .

This bit caught my eye as it appears they have a facilities available for days when the weather is a bit unpredictable.

Our poolside family facilities include an all-weather heated pavilion capable of comfortably hosting up to 100 people, group barbeque facilities, outdoor chess, petanque, volleyball, hot and cold snacks and drinks, Tip Top cream, Coke, and hot chips dispensers, family picnic areas and a choice of pools ranging in depth and temperature from the warm chlorinated fresh water pool for younger children to private mineral pools for privacy and total relaxation.

Sounds great fun for all ages and ideal for a get-together, as there's something for everyone to do. Any comments?
