Do all university degrees need to be assessed by the NZQA?

Well, it's been two weeks since the selection and I'm still waiting on our application to come from the London office ... pins and needles, I tell you!

Anyway, I've been getting my stuff together to register as a teacher and I'm fairly confident I understand the process. However, a related question occured to me:

Does my wife need to have her degree assessed by the NZQA for it to be recognized by an employer? She has a BA in history--which, as anyone could guess, is totally unrelated to her current occupation. She's a project manager for a software company, and I expect she'll most likely try to find something related in NZ.

There's a list of recognised quals on the NZIS website, pretty sure if your BA is from one of the institutes on the list there's no need for an assessment from NZQA.

We didn't need to have our assessed. We both have degrees from an accredited university.

SteveyC is correct! I had mine from University of Portsmouth (long distance program) and wife from Loughborough University (Long distance too) and we do not need NZQA assessment.
