Default We're leaving on a jet plane...

Good to hear you are still kicking about! [smiley=icon_biggrin.gif]

Actually, the temperatures are usually hotter in other parts of NZ than Northland during summer. Hawkes Bay and the Christchurch area can get temperatures in the 30's, whilst it tends to just stick at 24-26 here. It is during the winter that the difference shows with Northland getting the higher temperatures - usually a high of around 14-16 degrees. 8-)

right, we have been to kerikeri, l;oved it, ahipara, also loved. did the bus trip on 90 mile beach for hubby's b/day. back to auckland and did the museum, quite cool. off to the coromandel and stayed with family in thames...for one night! it was the worst caravan ever! scummy does not describe and we don't mind slumming it. also their house was nowhere near built and they and 2 kids living in it. not my idea o fun and as for the composting toilet, i have never smelt one so bad!
anyway then to coromandel town, didn't like much, whitianga, just passed through as we had stayed therir on honeymoon. lotssss of building going on and expansion, not sucha nice feel. hot water beach waas so cool!! sucha strange sensation to have your toes burning in the sand and the cold sea water round ur ankles.
now in katikati. up mt manganui (sp) today. what an effort in my unfit state but so worth it. it was so sunny. off to rotorua on sat to stay with german couple for a week helping propogate exotic plants. lots of different experiences.
i have taken notes on our impressions but forgot to bring notebook to internet cafe. doh! i'll try harder next time.
bye for now, he;len./
ps sorry bout the typing, time limits in these cafes stres me poor fingers.
