Thank you for the recap, Glenda. I'm glad that the family has settled well into Kiwi living. I hope you can buy your own home soon, though it sounds like your rental is satisfactory for the time.

It is interesting to learn which Kiwi customs and terms are new to the British, and which to us Yanks. Your comment about mandarins brought this to mind, though I have read other examples. Some are new to both sides of the Pond, to be sure. I love picking up new words and manners. Sometimes I can't recall where I've picked up one or another, but continue to use it.

Fisheress, it's been seven months already? I hope all is well for you and yours.
