Default UK Parents coming to live in NZ with me (UK) & wife (kiw

I am lucky enough to be engaged to a kiwi, who I am planning to live with permanantly in New Zealand. I am British and assuming I get residency in NZ does anyone know what the chances of my Parents also both British coming to live too. They own their own house that they would sell and have a bit of savings tucked away that they would transfer over - my brother who lives in the UK has little contact with them. I know it is not a clear cut yes or no, but are their chances of joining my future wife and I good ?

I believe the balance of the family has to be in New Zealand in order for you to sponsor them. So with one son in NZ and the other in the UK, there is no balance of family in NZ.
Also you can only go down the family sponsor route if you have citizenship which takes a least 5 years now.

Matt

First things first, you have to hold PR for 3 years before you’re eligible to sponsor parents.  We’re in the position of being parents and wanting to join our son in NZ.  I think, as long as you have one ‘child’ in the UK and one in NZ, that’s OK.  I certainly hope so or we’ve been misguided for some time now, as I’ve got one in UK and one in NZ.

I’m sure it’s when there’s one in the UK and none in NZ or, say, two in the UK and none or just one in NZ that there’s a problem.

There's also the Family Quota which is like a lottery where your parents' names get put 'in a hat' where 250 lucky people are drawn out.  This is usually held once a year, but I don't think it's been done for the last couple of years.
