Commuting by Bike

Hi,

Just curious, does anyone commute to work by bicycle in New Zealand? I intend to bike to work/errands in New Zealand. From the information I know so far, city councils in New Zealand are generally friendly to cyclist by building cycle lanes, providing awareness, rules and specific training and including supporting cyclist advocates network/groups in New Zealand.

I just want to hear about the experience from anyone who actually cycle often on New Zealand roads.

Of course I am in Christchurh which makes cycling nicer than say, Auckland
